New Hampshire has about 200,000 preK-12 students in 13 urban centers and across many rural areas. REL-NEI is working closely with the New Hampshire Department of Education to provide research support for a broad range of initiatives, including Governor Lynch’s zero-tolerance policy for high school dropouts, and the Follow The Child initiative. REL-NEI has collaborated on several state conferences on dropout prevention and is planning an upcoming event to present evidence-based recommendations for improving graduation rates. In addition, REL-NEI has contributed to various analyses of New Hampshire data, including teacher quality data and NECAP data. Current work focuses on the state’s highest priority areas: standards and assessment, effective teachers and leaders, data systems, and turnaround of struggling schools.
