REL-NEI’s mission is to help preK-16 educators use the best available evidence to make decisions leading to improved student achievement and reduced performance gaps. We offer a number of ways that educators and policymakers can access our cost-free resources, including conferences and webinars.
REL-NEI has sponsored several Policy Challenges Conferences for educators, policymakers, and administrators in our region. These conferences offered stakeholders the opportunity to connect directly with research on issues of critical importance. REL-NEI’s inaugural conference welcomed over 100 people to Providence, R.I., in November 2007 and focused on Teacher Quality. More recently, in February 2009, REL-NEI hosted a conference in Simsbury, Conn., that was titled: “Effective Literacy and English Language Instruction for English Learners in Elementary Grades.”
