PROGRAM OVERVIEW
More than a decade ago, reading researchers identified a crisis in adolescent literacy. Dr. Kamil’s presentation will help education stakeholders, including New England state education agency (SEA) participants, gain a stronger understanding of contemporary research and concrete strategies and resources to advance learning opportunities and make better policy decisions on behalf of adolescent learners.
Dr. Kamil’s presentation will be followed by a panel of New England state literacy leaders who will talk about their own work on adolescent literacy and respond to the Practice Guide recommendations. This will be followed by a Q&A session with Dr. Kamil. In this interactive session, participants are encouraged to use an online chatroom to comment and submit questions.
