ED Proposal Increases States’ ARRA Admin Funds
On August 14th, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced that the Education Department (ED) will publish a proposal in the Federal Register on August 17th to allow states to reserve more administrative funds under Title I, Part A and IDEA to defray data-collection costs in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), including those related to administering, monitoring, and reporting on use of ARRA funds. Title I and IDEA are programs that provide additional educational assistance to academically at-risk students and children with disabilities, respectively. The notice is a proposal, which will be open for public comment for 30 days.
On August 14th, Maine posted its “State Agency Reports on American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Activities for Period Covering July 24th – August 6th.” The Department received an ARRA grant award for Education Technology State Grants in the amount of $3,209,375.
On August 13th, the New York State Department of Education posted its Education Stabilization Fund (CFDA No. 84.394) Guidance Document, in Word and PDF versions.
