ED Deputy Secretary to Talk Reform in New Hampshire
At the invitation of the New England Comprehensive Center and other regional organizations, Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller will be in Bedford, New Hampshire, on November 10th for a focused dialogue on the Administration’s reform priorities. National experts in each of the four priority areas—educator effectiveness, data systems, standards and assessments, and turning around low-performing schools—will lead working groups on effective strategies for meeting the Administration’s reform goals.
On October 29th, Massachusetts Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Mitchell D. Chester posted three PowerPoint presentations related to the Race to the Top competitive grant program:
- Race to the Top: Massachusetts’ Vision and Emerging Priorities, which was presented to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education on October 26th
- Race to the Top: Data Systems to Support Instruction, which was presented to Massachusetts superintendents on October 20th
- Race to the Top: Great Teachers and Leaders, which was presented to Massachusetts superintendents on October 21st
